I Look Out the Window and Discover a Fancy Weed!
How's this for a weed? That's just what it is! I have fallen seriously behind on my weeding and gardening, and maybe that is not so bad! Today I looked out my window and found this lovely flower looking directly at me! While a volunteer plant, it is no slouch. I think one of the birds or animals must have brought it around. Hey, thanks!
Like a rainbow, I view it as a very good sign.
UPDATE: My weed, hibiscus syriacus, is the national flower of Korea. It's also called the Rose of Sharon. It's considered slightly invasive, and it has naturalized well in suburban areas.
