Welcome to New Illinois Governor Pat Quinn

Welcome to Illinois Governor Pat Quinn! Let's hope he keeps Illinois off the Jay Leno and David Letterman shows. The optimists among us are hoping that the high minded ideals shown by the members of the Illinois Senate will remain in their minds and hearts over the weekend or maybe all next week. Let's hope Governor Quinn gets his groove back as a true man of the people.

Article 2 has passed unanimously. Rod Blagojevich will not be able to again hold public office in the State of Illinois.

UPDATE: At 5:02 PM, Justice Anne Burke administered the oath of office to Pat Quinn.

UPDATE: At 5:20 PM, the State of Illinois security detail has left former Governor Blagojevich's house and have been replaced by the Chicago Police Department.
